A Private Full-Day Excursion to the Alpujarras, through some of the most charming corners of Andalusia. We start by passing through Lanjarón, then stopping in at Órgiva, a retreat for King Boabdil in 1492, and the Barranco de Poqueira, with its breathtaking views (of the towns of Pampaneira, Bubión and Capileira).
We will make stops at several of these towns, the first at the Tablate Bridge, which leads to Granada’s section of the Alpujarras, a region of the white villages and the last Muslim stronghold in the era of the Christian conquest by the Catholic Monarchs.
The second stop in the area is Pampaneira, where we walk through the village, admiring the fabulous Barranco de Poqueira, and Capileira, where we stand before a spectacular panoramic view of the summits of the mountains Mulhacén and Veleta.
You will have the opportunity to eat the most typical dish of the Alpujarras along with various starters and seasonal soups at a restaurant renowned for the quality of its food, simplicity and cozy space, with plenty of time to stroll and wonder at the beauty in these jaw-dropping landscapes.
As an option, this excursion can be extended to include Trevélez, along with Pórtugos and a stop at Fuente Agria and Fuente del Chorreón (two freshwater springs). Trevélez, at an altitude of 1,476 meters, is ranked as the highest village in the Alpujarra Mountains.
